What DoctoPoint does.

Eight areas of daily work, backed by 24 compliance modules. What the platform does — and how you show, on demand, that it did it.

Documentation checks

Checks run at entry, not at audit. Nothing silently carries over.

Eight areas. One record.

Each area names the modules that stand behind it. Each module links to the clause it implements.

A01 · Records & charting

One chart. Every touch.

Patients, treatment episodes and SOAP entries in one record. The exam library is yours to configure, consent is captured inside the note, and every field renders exactly as it was defined when it was entered.

  • Patient charts with a live list and a command-palette jump to any record
  • Cases: one treatment episode per presenting complaint, with a care plan per case
  • SOAP entry with signposting and consent to touch; unsigned drafts sit in a queue until signed
  • Configurable exam library, side-tested findings, ICD-10-CA coding with deprecation flags
A02 · Scheduling & front desk

The day, on one page.

A calendar per practitioner with arrival, wait time and scheduled-versus-actual duration. Waitlist, recalls and tasks are queues the front desk works — not spreadsheets kept beside the software.

  • Calendar with per-practitioner colours and a day sheet grouped by practitioner
  • Arrival, wait time and actual duration recorded on every visit
  • Waitlist: book the next freed slot and the entry clears itself
  • Recalls and no-shows flagged by the daily check and reminded through the secure channel
A03 · Billing & payers

Invoices come from the visit.

A line item exists because a signed encounter exists. Fee schedules carry effective dates, payers drive the routing, and the prepayment caps of SP 2.3 are enforced by the software rather than remembered by the front desk.

  • Invoices composed from the appointment picker: a visit is billable only with a signed SOAP note; billed and blocked states are shown, cancelled and no-show visits are never billable
  • Payments recorded against invoices; outstanding-balance report across the clinic
  • Payers for AHA, WCB, MVA and extended benefits with per-patient coverage — policy, primary or secondary, visits remaining; an insurer-facing invoice references the coverage record before it leaves draft
  • Fee schedule with effective dates and legislated fees checked; price changes cascade into draft invoices
A04 · Forms, documents & imaging

Filed the moment it exists.

Per-visit Alberta forms, an append-only document vault, imaging requisitions and reports attached to the chart, and signatures collected by link — all on the patient record, none in an inbox.

  • AB-2 / AB-4 lifecycle: AB-2 requires the claimant’s signature before submission, AB-4 submits directly
  • Form templates and a field mapper for intake and jurisdiction forms; AB forms prefilled from records already held, with visit-series counts capped at the insurer’s protocol limit
  • Documents are append-only — archive instead of delete
  • Imaging requisitions and reports linked; unsolicited reports triaged; significant findings queued for follow-up
A05 · Communication

One channel, and it is secured.

Health information leaves the chart through a secured path with a record on the patient’s file. Disclosures need an authorisation. Copy the clinic publishes is scanned before it goes out.

  • Secured messaging with every communication filed on the patient record
  • Disclosure authorisations with all required fields; a revocation blocks any further disclosure
  • Per-patient disclosure log for HIA §41 requests
  • Recall and reminder messages through the secure channel only — never SMS or messenger apps
A06 · Clinical safety

Bounded at save time.

Intake screening, the restricted-activity register, the boundary checkpoint and the harm-disclosure record run inside the chart. The practitioner does not have to remember them; the record will not sign without them.

  • Red, orange and yellow flags from intake, persisting across every encounter until closed with evidence
  • Restricted-activity register checks charts, treatment plans and invoice lines against the CCOA directives
  • Boundary checkpoint required whenever contact in a sensitive area is recorded
  • Disclosure-of-harm workflow from the chart, a critical event or a secure message
A07 · Practice operations & staff

The recurring obligations, on a schedule.

A practitioner roster, policies staff sign, equipment that gets maintained, critical events that get closed, competence credits that get counted — with a reminder whenever something is due.

  • Practitioner roster with licence, college, signature image and calendar colour
  • Support-staff register with assignable activities and the SP 4.2 blocklist enforced
  • IPC, equipment and support-staff policies adopted per clinic; acknowledgements per member and policy
  • Critical events with corrective actions; equipment maintenance cadence with quarantine on recall
A08 · Privacy programme & evidence

Regulator-ready, every day.

Onboarding is gated: the regulatory authority, the IMA, the HIA officer, the retention policy and an approved PIA come before the first patient. From then on a daily check keeps every lifecycle gate visible.

  • Onboarding checklist per module: authority, IMA with the Appendix 4 check, PIA, retention, HIA §62 officer, §63 policies
  • Daily check surfaces overdue PIA reviews, expiring IMAs, MFA gaps, backup failures, restore drills and key rotation
  • Append-only audit log with export per patient, per user, per time range
  • Retention floors and a disposal ledger; IMA renewal before expiry keeps patient creation unlocked
